First of all, Iranian driving behaviors are different and crazy. People normally do not follow traffic rules, so pay especial attention while you are crossing the street.
In crowded tourist areas like Bazaars, it is possible that you encounter pick-pocketing so make sure that you keep your valuable objects such as passport, money, and camera on you and secure.
Iranians are very kind and have a friendly behavior towards tourists but please respect the culture and religion of the country in order to enjoy your trip more. Some of the cities especially the smaller ones are more religious than other ones and people are a little bit sensitive about the way you act.
Women can wear a tunic, jeans, loose pants, long ankle skirt, and scarf. Note that Hijab is compulsory here.
Men can wear everything except short pants that end above or at the knee.
Iran is a safe country for solo woman travelers but dress appropriately and modestly especially while you are visiting religious places.
Check the dress code for both women and men before your Iran trip. The rules of the wear in Iran aren’t so district for tourists and foreigners. You can still have your own chic style. Women can wear a tunic, jeans, loose pants, long ankle skirt, and scarf. Note that Hijab is compulsory here.
Men can wear everything except short pants that end above or at the knee.
Mugging and kidnapping threats against foreigners are almost rare in Iran but it is better to avoid some areas in some cities at night. You can also ask your hotel receptionist to help you with this issue.
And finally, try to avoid these mentioned places or book an experienced guide through a travel agency if you really like to visit them: some parts of the Province of Sistan and Baluchistan, Iran-Afghanistan border (at least within 100 KM), within 10 KM of the Iran and Iraq border and Iran and Pakistan border.
